Junior Laravel Developer · Kathmandu

I build backend APIs that are tested, secure and easy for the next developer to pick up.

I'm Ayush. I work at Cubit Inc. on Laravel APIs, including the backend of a hospital system for an Australian client. In my own projects I write tests and documentation by default.

~/shophub
$ ./vendor/bin/pest

  PASS  Tests\Feature\AuthTest        8 tests
  PASS  Tests\Feature\CartTest        8 tests
  PASS  Tests\Feature\CheckoutTest    6 tests
  PASS  Tests\Feature\CouponTest      6 tests
  PASS  Tests\Feature\OrderAccessTest 7 tests

  Tests:    35 passed (89 assertions)
  Duration: 0.29s

  • I work on the backend of a hospital system for a client in Australia, building APIs and database queries and following the project's access and data-handling rules.
  • I build and maintain REST APIs, SQL queries, migrations and request validation for assigned features.
  • I fix defects in a live codebase and apply code-review feedback from senior developers.
  • I use Git daily (branches, pull requests), and I work with frontend developers, designers and project leads.

ShopHub

A backend API for an online store: catalog, search, cart, coupons, checkout, orders and reviews. I built it to practise the parts of a real system that are easy to get wrong.

  • 35 Pest feature tests: auth, cart limits, checkout, coupons and order access. Writing them caught a bug that blocked every login.
  • Safe checkout: one database transaction, plus conditional updates, so two buyers can't both get the last item, and a failed checkout rolls back completely.
  • Security: Sanctum tokens, rate-limited login, strong passwords, and Policies so users only see their own orders.
  • Documented: the README covers setup, routes, design decisions and how to run the tests.
  • Laravel 13
  • PHP 8.4
  • Sanctum
  • MySQL
  • Pest

app/Services/OrderService.php
// Check stock and decrement it in ONE query,
// so two buyers can't both take the last item.
$affected = Product::where('id', $product->id)
    ->where('stock', '>=', $quantity)
    ->decrement('stock', $quantity);

if (! $affected) {
    // Throwing here rolls back the whole order.
    throw new InsufficientStockException(...);
}

REST API

Forms API

A Google Forms-style backend. Admins build forms with sections and questions, signed-in users fill them in, and only admins can read the responses.

  • Sanctum
  • Role middleware

03 How I work

1

Understand it first

I make sure I know what the task needs before writing code, and I ask early if something is unclear.

2

Test before review

I check my work locally and write tests for the important paths, so reviewers spend time on design, not on basic bugs.

3

Secure by default

I validate every input, check who is allowed to do what, and never return data a user shouldn't see.

4

Leave it documented

I write clear setup steps and explain the "why" behind decisions, so the next developer isn't guessing.
